MR16 Track Lighting

Review The Best Features And Advantages Of MR16 Track Lighting Systems.

MR16 Track Lighting

Other than layout and color, lighting is an essential factor influencing design by creating depth, dimension and drama. Lighting designers are constantly searching for ways to merge form and function to produce smart, stylish lighting solutions. Halogen MR16 lighting has become popular as an efficient alternative to standard incandescent reflector bulbs because it is more compact in size and more adaptable to a bigger range of needs for low to medium-intensity directional lighting. It is better-suited to track lighting, retail display lighting, non-dichroic recessed ceiling lighting and landscape lighting, to name just a few. Specifically, an MR16 track lighting system can be used to provide task, accent or display illumination such as in theater, art shows, restaurants and bars.

MR16 is one of the standard formats for halogen multifaceted reflector (MR) light bulbs, along with MR11 and MR8. A halogen MR16 lamp is made up of a halogen light bulb in combination with a pressed glass reflector, which does the job of directing and diffusing light from the lamp in multiple facets, from narrow spot lights to spread-out flood lights, whether soft or sharp-edged. Smaller than incandescent, MR16 lights fit desk lamps, bicycle headlights, pendant lighting fixtures, and to the delight of lighting designers, track lights. Halogen MR16 track lighting is typically low voltage (12V or 24V), low wattage (50 to 75 watts), better ventilated and energy-saving for over 60 percent more than incandescent, with comparable light levels. That is, they are just as bright but stay cooler longer and consume less power.

Designed for use in slide projectors initially, MR16 halogen lights are now enjoying the investment in decorative styles being put into functional track lighting. Freejack, monorail and 2 circuit rail systems feature fixed, swivel, swing arm, transitional adjustable and other movable track heads in a selection of finishes. Choose from chrome, silver, brushed steel, brushed nickel, white cord, white glass, polished nickel, satin nickel, antique bronze, antique brass, black or white baked enamel and many more. Glass shields range from mouth-blown cased Murano to flute, blossom, hurricane, little pleat, diffused, cargo ribbed, cargo solid, mission and others. Track parts, accessories and optical controls, including track heads, connectors, cords, lamp sockets and lighting fixtures, can be purchased separately for greater customizable appeal, adding onto the initial track to meet specific design requirements.

MR16 track lighting is a genuinely smart, efficient way to brighten up home and office interiors in style. There is a wide variety available to meet increasingly popular market demand. Numerous choices of rigid, flexible, pendulum, joint sectional, mini and portable track lighting systems can be bought complete, pre-assembled, design your own or as do-it-yourself kits. Easy-to-install starter kits may be plugged simply into existing electrical outlets or connected into the junction box and with an on/off switch. Whether as pendant lights or accent lights, in glass sconces or ring fixtures, for enhancing works of art or architectural detailing, halogen MR16 track lights can be mixed and matched in tones of cool white, warm white, frosted, emerald, amber and many others along one continuous track device until the desired look is achieved finally.
